Indonesia Market Situation:
Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world. It is located between the Indian and Pacific Oceans and adjacent to major east-west trade zones, making it an important economic zone. Indonesia is rich in mineral resources, including oil, natural gas, coal, copper, bauxite, iron ore, zinc, lead, rare earth, nickel, tin, molybdenum and other mineral resources. Among them, nickel ore reserves account for 23.6% of the world’s total reserves, tin ore reserves account for 17.0% of the world’s total reserves, and bauxite reserves account for 4.0% of the world’s total reserves. At present, Indonesia’s nickel and tin production ranks second in the world, copper and aluminum production ranks eighth in the world, and coal production ranks fifth in the world. In 2021, with global economic stimulus and economic recovery, coal production and economic development resonate. In 2021, Indonesia’s coal production was 614 million tons, an increase of 8.9% year-on-year. In 2022, the Russian-Ukrainian war broke out, and the global coal trade was reshaped. The demand of exporting countries such as Indonesia was high, and coal production also climbed. In 2022, Indonesia’s coal production was 687 million tons, an increase of 11.9% year-on-year, making it a major mineral resource production and exporting country in the world.
