Introduction to ilmenite gravity separation process
November.22,2024
The ilmenite beneficiation process mainly includes mining, coarse crushing, fine crushing, rough separation, grinding, and concentration. The specific process may vary depending on the nature of the ore and the mineral composition. For example, the beneficiation process of low-vanadium titanium magnetite mainly includes crushing, grinding, magnetic separation, flotation and other steps; while the beneficiation process of high-vanadium titanium magnetite may be carried out before grinding. Permanent magnetic high-gradient magnetic separation, discarding some waste rock, improves the beneficiation efficiency.
Ilmenite gravity separation process is suitable for ilmenite with coarse-grained impregnation and fine-grained aggregate impregnation. After coarse and medium crushing, it can be passed through gravity separation equipment, such as spiral chute, shaking table, etc., to discard a large amount of gangue and desludging.
The new gravity separation equipment for ilmenite is mainly a rotating spiral chute. This equipment combines the advantages of spiral chute, shaking table and centrifugal concentrator, avoids the shortcomings of shaking table and centrifugal concentrator, and is easy to obtain a higher enrichment ratio, enhances gravity separation efficiency, and reduces the recovery limit to 0.019 mm, breaking the current situation that gravity separation can only recover +0.037 mm particle size.
In the production process transformation of a ilmenite concentrator in Xinjiang, it was used instead of 1.2 m spiral chute, and the yield of titanium coarse concentrate was doubled, and the recovery rate increased by 20%.
