Spiral chute separation of chromium ore feed concentration

A limonite-type laterite nickel ore is located in the northern region of Indonesia. The raw ore contains 2.18% chromium, 0.11% cobalt, and 1.04% nickel. The metal minerals contained are mainly manganese nickel ore, chromium-containing minerals are mainly chromite spinel, and there are also a small amount of magnetite, hematite, trace chromium magnetite, barite, etc. Based on the process mineralogy research of the ore, it is determined to use a gravity-magnetic combined process to recover the chromium-containing minerals. While obtaining qualified chromium concentrate, it can effectively reduce the interference of chromium metal on subsequent hydrometallurgy and improve the economic benefits of the enterprise

The spiral chute has a good separation effect on minerals with different specific gravity. It has the characteristics of simple operation and large processing capacity. It is often used for pre-enrichment of high-density minerals such as chromite, tungsten ore, and tantalum-niobium ore. The feed concentration test of spiral chute was carried out with the sediment obtained from the hydrocyclone at a feed pressure of 0.1 MPa as the feed. As the feed concentration increased, the operating recovery rate of chromium in the heavy product increased first and then decreased. When the feed concentration was 25%, the operating recovery rate of chromium in the heavy product of the spiral chute was the highest.
