The difference between a hydrocyclone and a heavy medium cyclone
January.13,2025
A hydrocyclone is a device used to separate and remove heavier coarse particles of mud and sand and other substances in sewage, and is sometimes used for mud dehydration. It is often made of a circular cylindrical structure or a metal pipe. It is a highly efficient grading and desludging equipment. There are many types of cyclones. Today, we bring you a three-product heavy medium cyclone. Please see the real picture:
The three-product heavy medium cyclone is composed of a first-stage cyclone and a second-stage cyclone in series. The first-stage cyclone is placed at a 15° tilt, and the second-stage cyclone is placed horizontally or at a 15° tilt. After the raw coal is sorted by the three-product heavy medium cyclone, the clean coal is discharged and collected from the center pipe of the first-stage cyclone, the medium coal is discharged and collected from the center pipe of the second-stage cyclone, and the gangue is discharged and collected from the bottom flow port of the second-stage cyclone.
The three-product heavy medium cyclone is mainly used for the sorting of difficult-to-sort coal and extremely difficult-to-sort coal.
Features
Advantages: simple structure, easy to manufacture, large processing capacity
Functions
(1) Classification (2) Desludging (3) Concentration (4) Sand and impurity removal (5) Tailings filling and damming
In addition to being used in non-metallic ores and alumina, cyclones are also used in metal mines, fertilizers, chemicals, papermaking, construction, etc. It has now become an indispensable classification equipment for mineral processing.
