Semi-dry discharge process for dehydration of bauxite washing slurry
December.16,2024
The semi-dry discharge process refers to the process in which the slurry is transported to the slurry discharge reservoir after being concentrated to a concentration of 30% by a thickener. A dehydrating agent (dosage 300~500g/t) is added before the slurry enters the slurry discharge reservoir. The slurry is settled and stored in the slurry discharge reservoir, and the upper clear liquid of the slurry discharge reservoir is collected for reuse or discharged from the reservoir.
The deep cone thickener is a special form of thickener. Compared with the traditional thickener, it has a small footprint, large processing capacity, high degree of automation, and high energy efficiency. It is mainly used for high-concentration concentration of minerals in ore dressing plants, and can also be used for wastewater treatment of thickeners for other slurries with fine particles and low density. It can also be used specifically for tailings dry discharge process. Its shape is similar to a sedimentation funnel, with a cone angle of 45°~60°, a total height of 8~16 m, a diameter of 5~10 m, and a rake device at the bottom, which can be a spiral pusher or a scraper.
Due to the large height, the bottom material is subjected to a large hydrostatic pressure, and the material residence time is also increased, which can be fully compressed, so the bottom flow concentration is very high, and it can even be transported by a belt conveyor. The concentrator is generally divided into three “areas”, namely the clarification area, the sedimentation area and the compression area.
An important feature of the high-efficiency deep cone multi-cone concentrator is that the three areas are structurally designed separately, so that the concentration and dehydration effect is better and the efficiency is higher. The high-efficiency vibration deep cone multi-cone concentrator is mainly responsible for the mission of treating the overflow water of the hydrocyclone in the tailings dry discharge. Since the effect of the concentration and dehydration type hydrocyclone is very good, its overflow water is mainly mud and fine particles, and the cyclone overflow concentration is low, so the clarification area, sedimentation area and compression area of the high-efficiency vibration deep cone multi-cone concentrator are unique. The slurry overflow from the XCII dehydration and concentration hydrocyclone can be further concentrated by using a high-efficiency deep cone multi-cone concentrator. Since the high-efficiency deep cone concentrator has a large settling area and compression area, although the material it processes has a finer particle size and lower concentration, it can obtain a higher low-flow concentration and a larger processing capacity.
